Words By Karen From Finance:

I love corporate office culture more than anything else in the world! The actual office can be very cumbersome and stressful and overwhelming in real life, so I like watching these corporate classics as a little bit of a personal reset. It's great to have a laugh and tune into everybody else's corporate troubles for a change!

Working Girl (1988)

There is nothing that ISN'T outrageous about this movie. Sigourney Weaver's confidently flirty CEO attitude, Melanie Griffith's giant hair, the amazing scene shift between the shoe-tying and the ski slopes. I know it's been too long since you've seen this film - go and watch it again RIGHT NOW!

Office Christmas Party (2016)

This is the Office Christmas Party that we ALL want our bosses to throw. Bottomless drinks, celebrity guests, apocolyptic post-party scenes... Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston and Kate McKinnon give incredible performances. I have watched this movie a million times and can never get sick of it.

Nine To Five (1980)

I mean, it’s a classic. You can’t do a corporate office movie list without it. It’s THE original! With a soundtrack to boot! The teaming up of now lifelong friends Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and the incomparable Dolly Parton are iconic in this feature, and the infamous scene of them sitting around the coffee table with the Mary J lives in my head permanently – rent free.

Devil (2010)

Ok this movie is really only on my list because it has the most HILARIOUS sub-title of all time; "Five people are trapped in an elevator. One of them is the devil." I remember seeing this on the movie poster when it came out and thinking that it was the campest thing I had ever read. The movie is quite scary, but a classic nonetheless!

Straight Talk (1992)

It wouldn't be a list from Karen From Finance unless Dolly Parton appeared on it - in some way or another - multiple lines. Dolly's character Shirley is so extra in this movie, and although it's not necessarily set in an office, there's enough corporate camp 80s culture in this film that it simply may as well have been. Pour a gin and get ready for a feel good giggle!
